At Easter 2019 we supported:

Freedom From Torture

All over the world, people just like you, are being tortured right now!

Freedom from Torture is the only organisation dedicated solely to the treatment of survivors of torture. It takes a holistic approach to rehabilitation, catering for the unique needs of survivors. At Christmas 2018 we supported:

Toilet Twinning

Toilets are transforming lives! Having good sanitation and water enables people to be much healthier, safer and to live better lives. We are able to give enough money to twin our church toilets with 3 church toilet blocks which were built in Zambia. There are certificates in Trinity’s toilets giving details of our toilet twinning!

Toilet Twinning is a registered charity and is part of Tearfund.

Christian Aid

We support Christian Aid in its work supporting poorer people across the world. Trinity supports Christian Aid financially through our Harvest Festival Appeal and other fundraising efforts. We also support the annual Christian Aid Week house-to-house collection.

Eco Church

Trinity is an Eco Church, achieving the Bronze Award in 2016, reflecting our efforts as a church in caring for God’s earth in different areas of our life and work:-

• Worship and teaching
• Management of church buildings
• Community and global engagement
• Lifestyle

We are now actively undertaking further projects as we move towards being able to apply for a Silver Award in future.

Fairtrade

Trinity is a Fairtrade (link to Fairtrade Foundation) church, using Fairtrade products wherever possible and promoting Fairtrade during Fairtrade Fortnight and throughout the year. As a church, we are also represented on the Leek Fairtrade Town Steering Group, which successfully reapplied for Fairtrade Town status in 2016.

Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Crisis Appeals

We support DEC Crisis Appeals to rebuild communities around the world devastated by disasters. We provide a donation point in the church foyer, encouraging people to make donations in support of each Appeal.

One World Week

We support One World Week, an opportunity to celebrate people working together to build a just, peaceful and sustainable world. Each year, we organise an event with a speaker to mark One World Week.
